Anxiety

Anxiety tends to fall into 2 types, generalised anxiety (where a person feels anxious without there being a specific trigger or event causing the anxiety) and specific types of anxiety, such as phobias, social anxiety and even fear of public speaking. 

If you are dealing with an anxiety disorder or feel over anxious at times, you may find yourself avoiding certain situations, people or places in case the unpleasant feelings are triggered. This can make everyday tasks so much more of a challenge and really hold you back on doing all the things you would like to be doing.

 

Some of the symptoms of anxiety are:

  • Overthinking

  • Chest pains (feelings like you are having a heart attack)

  • Headaches

  • Nausea

  • Fast or irregular heart beat

  • Restlessness

  • Dizziness

  • Sleep disturbances

Anxiety can be experienced on different levels of intensity; we will all feel it at some point for example going for a job interview. Anxiety on a mild level would be considered an acceptable amount as this aims to keep us safe to a degree, when the intensity being felt goes above and beyond this and negatively affects your life, then that would be the time to seek help for the symptoms.

Hypnotherapy can help to reduce the intensity of all the emotions, reduce the threatening thoughts that go hand in hand with those feelings.

 

You would learn to calm yourself and relax when confronted by those feelings as they start to build, hypnotherapy can also help to change the thoughts from being threatening to being more acceptable and accurate about the situation, place or person that triggers them. 

 

This will allow you to take back control of your own thoughts and feelings and enhance your life with a better future.
